W.I.S.H – (Women In Service to Him)
Areas of FOCUS
It is our vision for the whole body to be actively reaching all people for Christ regardless of ethnic group, age, gender, or socio-economic status. We will reach them through various programs, training each member in his or her responsibility to fulfill the Great Commission. By thoroughly equipping ourselves to reach out with the love of Christ, we will bring people closer to God, so they, too, can understand God’s plans for their lives both now and for eternity.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Serving the Needs of the Community
We believe that serving Jesus has at its core the desire to serve others in order to show His grace. Jesus gave many examples of service, from feeding the five thousand to washing the disciples’ feet. We will serve our community by striving to meet its needs and interests. We will be knowledgeable about those needs and be receptive to helping meet many of those needs in innovative ways. We will choose outreach projects that help meet some of the community’s greatest needs and will make the best use of the church’s resources, building, property and talents.
Galatians 6:10 “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
It is our vision to offer people of all ages and at all stages of life a wide variety of opportunities for exploring and growing their faith through knowledge of the Bible and its relevant life applications. The goal is to build passionate, authentic Christ-followers who are equipped to live out their faith in the family, congregation, workplace, community and beyond. Our educational opportunities will be used to develop leaders and to equip our members to support other vision focus areas.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching. rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”
Believing God helps people move closer to Him through praise and fellowship within Christ’s body, it is our aim to bring people before God through genuine praise, fellowship in love, inspiration, and relevant application of God’s word. We will do this by providing multiple opportunities and avenues for worshiping, serving, and praising Him; this will include, but is not limited to, our regular Sunday morning worship.
1 Chronicles 16:29 “Ascribe to the Lord the glory due his name; bring an offering and come before him. Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness.“
Psalm 100:2 “Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing.”
John 4:23 “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”
Our vision is that we will harness the promised power we have through prayer. We will teach and encourage individuals to use prayer to build a strong, active, and personal relationship with God. As a body of believers, we will place a high priority on prayer as our God-given tool to take our praises, concerns, confessions and thanks to our Father in heaven.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances;for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.“
Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
